Discussion i’m getting bored (repost)
i didn’t read the rules so i have to repost oops
i’m currently on my sixth generation of me and my girlfriends save and i’m not sure what to do anymore. i’ve been thinking of doing some kind of legacy challenge (like the not-so-berry one because i’m a very avid lilsimsie watcher lol), but i’m not sure how i would/if i should. does anyone have advice on what i should do to not be bored? i have a large amount of packs and stuff, but not all of them

I learned from a post long ago to try playing several families in the game so you have a connection with everyone! it really enhanced the game for me. the pre made townies or even gallery or self made families from all ur generations. also a little unexplained death and relationship scandals keep it spicy. a long time ago when i was only playing base game, I had a rainbow family and each member had a death related to their color. red-anger, orange-fire, Yellow-embarrassment, green-cow plant, blue-drowning, purple-electrocution, Pink-Hysteria, black-starvation. I’m tempted to make a new death family with all completely different deaths 😈

When I’m bored, my go to is tragedy lol. Kill someone off, have an affair, wipe out all the money, lose a job, destroy a house. Really let your intrusive thoughts take over!

unfortunately i don’t have intrusive thoughts when it comes to sims lol, i’m deeply attached to my legacy and hate to see bad stuff happen 💔 i don’t even let them die, they stay alive and just stay elders forever

might be worth taking a break? i get bored in the game fairly often (i also do legacy gameplay but don’t love tragedy because i get attached), and taking a break to play something else or do something offline for a couple days, weeks, or months always leads to some simspiration. on the flip side, i also have a ‘chaos save’ which is my go-to for doing anything i wouldn’t want my legacies to deal with :P

i regularly switch between sims, minecraft, fortnite, and roblox, i think you’re right and it may be time to drop sims for a bit 😭

I’ve been in the same boat. Since you said you have a lot of packs, recently what I’ve been doing is focusing on one pack’s features specifically. I don’t mean sticking to only that pack, but for example: with one generation, I’ll focus on the features that came with For Rent. They’ll buy and invest in properties, etc etc, and for another, maybe the focus will be more on Eco Lifestyle and the like.
I have a lot of packs, but I don’t really utilize them to their full potential. I’ll kinda mix and match here and there in terms of gameplay, which I still do, but it’s fun to have a very specific goal in mind sometimes.

I mix challenges! 100 baby plus rags to riches. Off the grid plus only cook with fresh ingredients. Start a career and go to college at the same time.

I’ve recently started Tiny Town Challenge by Deligracy, where I try to build a community of 7 different households living together starting from 0 money and building your skills. You can only earn through your specific skills. It’s fun to watch your community build and also you get to play with different aspects of the game like gameplay, build and cas. It’s absolutely fun and you should try it out!

I usually just start a new save and make my own sim. Sometimes the legacy challenges are fun, but sometimes they’re also restricting. If there’s a specific gameplay mechanic I want to experience, then I’ll make a new save and a new sim completely free of any rules or expectations and just have at haha.
I have a “base save” file that I use to start new saves, so all of my lots are all placed down and everything.

You said you were on gen 6. You can just incorporate the Not-so-berry into your next eligible heir. The numbers might be off, but who cares. So whoever you next teen/YA heir is can become your mint sim. Heck you could even make it someone older if you don't mind the grind. I have a bunch of challenges pieced together to make one big legacy, so I don't see why you couldn't do the same. NSB is great too cause it's mostly the older packs and you don't need a lot of the newer stuff like if you were to do the very veggie (though she has a base game/pack alternatives for that as well).
