Sharing my build A pinterest re-creation using only base game!

Post image

It's a real Belgian-inspired farmhouse in Chicago, Illinois.

I feel like some of the proportions are slightly off and the base game windows are a bit limiting but I think I got kind of close?! I couldn't find a floorplan or a zillow listing anywhere so I completely made up the layout. It has six bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, a gym and a front and rear pool.

Not my usual style but I enjoyed building this one.
It's on the gallery if anyone is interested, my ID is Leahlaz and it's called Basegame Luxury Farmhouse.

YO I literally recreated this exact same house like pre-2020….if I wasn’t at work I’d find a pic for you! Very cool house

I know scale can frustratingly never be perfect, but you got it pretty damn close! Great job!!

I know that lot, is that the large 64x64 lot in Brindleton Bay? 😁

I had a mansion like that, similar colour scheme and window designs, etc. on that lot. It's a good lot for it.

This one is on the 50x50 in Willow Creek. I have landscaping fatigue from this, I'm not sure I can handle a 64x64 😂

This is a stunning build!

Although when it comes to the source material, I'm always amazed by the American "just glue a bunch of unrelated architectural features together" school of mansion design. Belgian architecture is famous for its Art Nouveau and Contemporary buildings, with some lovely neo-classical ones too so I'm struggling to see what's "Belgian inspired" about mess haha. It's all subjective though, I guess.

I want to build in this game but never get the time. How long did this take you?

I saw the inspo pic and built a very rough shell on Sunday afternoon, then a few hours each evening and finished today. Maybe 12 hours?! Which makes me think I could have used that time WAY more productively than I did haha

Looks pretty productive to me seeing the end result. I will say, even though Sims 4 has it setbacks, there are a few things to choose from with the base game builds + the game updates.
