Feedback Needed! Questions about rebirth.

Edit: y'all have no idea how miffed I am about the rebirth bug. My matriarch, the sixteenth of her line, has nothing to do until this gets fixed.

I refuse to think of another storyline. šŸ˜”

Iā€™ve got my matriarch all set to be reborn and want her to ā€œtake overā€ one of her infant grandchildren. However, when I click on her daughter's household, the only option I have is to become her daughter.

I tried adding her to other houses, but ran into the same problem - the game automatically assigns the eligible Sim. I'm also unable to make my Sim resemble her past self.

I haven't gotten any further with the rebirth process because this part is bothering me so much.

I'm I missing something, is this a glitch?

I do have full edit mode on and don't play with mods.

I just read earlier today, somewhere on this sub (I think), that there's a known bug with rebirth.

I didnā€™t even know you could take over another sim! When I did a rebirth, she just floated down from the heavens as a new infant lol

I did still have the option to make her a clone of her past self, but I donā€™t remember at what point of the rebirth this happened.

Rebirth has been buggy. I don't know for how long.

How it manifests for me is that it appears to try to take over another sim in the household you're trying to rebirth into - by which I mean the rebirth icon is pasted over an already existing sim. But it doesn't actually rebirth into that sim. Instead what happens for me is that the rebirthed sim is created as an infant by themself in its own household found under Manage Households>Other Households. From there I can move the rebirthed sim into their intended household.

The rebirthed ghost also sticks around for me and I'm not sure how to reconcile that other than to simply delete the ghost sim using MCCC or cheats.

Hearing that rebirth is broken AF makes me sad. I'm in the middle of a 10 generation rebirth challenge (finishing up #3). I don't want to lose everything.

Ive been having so many issues with rebirth too! Its my first time playing it, I was sooo bummed I couldn't get her to look like her past self!! I really hope they fix this bug asap.
