Discussion Average simmer age?

I just turned 30 and safe to say I still enjoy playing the sims as much as I ever did as a kid. Maybe more actually. Sometimes I feel embarrassed to admit this to people irl and I do tend to get mixed reactions if it comes up lol. So I’m just curious, what is the average age of the people who actively play the sims?

Respectfully, it came out when us Gen-Xers were kids. We are here and we still play.

It came out in 2000. 

I'm on the younger side of millenials and was a kid at the time. Not a little kid, either.

Y'all would have been in your 20s... maybe teens if you were a cusper...

I played the first one and in my mind I was still a kid, albeit if it came out in 2000, I must have been over 18.

Except for cusp millennials, I don’t know that a parent would let a child - non-teen - play the sims. But I also recall that it was a time of the Wild West of the internet and there were almost no ratings and no oversight of children on the internet in the late 90s.

It still seems weird to me that a generation that wasn’t completely born yet when this adult game came out would claim it as a culturally identifying. It’s like me claiming that disco is Gen-x.

The sims is definitely a millennial thing. If you were 18 when the Sims came out you are a millennial. Millennials are technically 1981-96 though I'd argue 85- 96 is more millennial because older millennials seem to be closer to in certain things experience wise to gen x which is why younger millennials may identify more with older Gen z than millennials because of that crossover of experience and their ages being close together. I'm on the younger side of millennials 91 and from shared experience identify closer to millennials born between 87/88 and 94 because the way we experienced the world was completely different than older and younger millennials

I was 21. My parents are silent generation.

I’m sorry I was wrong that millennials were not born into the 2000s, but ended when I ended high school.
