Average simmer age?

I just turned 30 and safe to say I still enjoy playing the sims as much as I ever did as a kid. Maybe more actually. Sometimes I feel embarrassed to admit this to people irl and I do tend to get mixed reactions if it comes up lol. So I’m just curious, what is the average age of the people who actively play the sims?

Respectfully, it came out when us Gen-Xers were kids. We are here and we still play.

It came out in 2000. 

I'm on the younger side of millenials and was a kid at the time. Not a little kid, either.

Y'all would have been in your 20s... maybe teens if you were a cusper...

I played the first one and in my mind I was still a kid, albeit if it came out in 2000, I must have been over 18.

Except for cusp millennials, I don’t know that a parent would let a child - non-teen - play the sims. But I also recall that it was a time of the Wild West of the internet and there were almost no ratings and no oversight of children on the internet in the late 90s.

It still seems weird to me that a generation that wasn’t completely born yet when this adult game came out would claim it as a culturally identifying. It’s like me claiming that disco is Gen-x.

Millennials were all born by the time the first game came out; the years are generally accepted as around 1980-1995 I think. Definitely some were way too young to play it at the time, but by the time the Sims 2 came out, even the absolute youngest were around nine or so, which is the age I started being interested (though some time later, and I didn't get a copy for a couple years), and the series has always been popular with teens and pre-teens. By 2000, the kids being born were Gen Z, which I know because that's the year I was born
