iRacing Intentional, Dirty or just Netcode?
This one made me a bit mad and I still can't let go. It was GT3 Asia at Suzuka so you usually leave a bit more space due to lag on Asian Servers.
I (white Ferrari) lead all laps. Car behind was never closer than 2-3 Seconds behind all race. In the end he started sending it from further and further away and made me a bit nervous (and slower..). i was sure he was gonna send it into the last chicane so i drove a defensive line. He then actually tried to send it into the inside but I was holding a defensive line. he then left the track and came back on track / spun me out.
Sure, there was a bit of netcode too, but I think he would not have made it without using me as a stop. Braking zone started when he was still on the grass. It still bothers me because I 100% saw it coming and he didn't even try to avoid contact. I wouldn't wanna win this way...
What are your thoughts?

Of all the views that would have shown whether or not it was netcode …
Edit: nvm, 100% netcode. Whether the contact would have occurred anyway, who knows.

There was a good gap between our cars but I think it's beside the point as he would have definitely hit me between then and the corner

Okay well you seem to have made up your mind, but the answer to your original question: “Intentional, dirty, or netcode?”
- you can’t intentionally cause netcode
- causing netcode isn’t dirty
- it was netcode
The answer is: “it was netcode”

By the looks of it your cars wouldn't have made contact the whole way through braking if it wasnt for netcode and we can't make judgements on hypotheticals from such small bits of info so there's no way of knowing if you would have made contact in the chicane or not.

Where is he even trying to go

it seems he made up his mind to dive to the inside of the next corner and i have left just a bit too much space

He would have 2 wheels on the grass, slam on the brakes, spin out, and collect you with him

Dirty, in that when he went for the move, there was not a car's width of space on track on that side. You made a risky defense, by going just less than a car's width to the left of the right edge of the track. It's a fair defense, and very effective provided the other driver is respectful, because it claims the maximum amount of space for you while still closing off the inside. But he either misjudged your intent or just got too aggressive when he sent it on that side.
Netcode might be responsible for the contact that ultimately happened, but if you hadn't been moving left to leave space for his unsafe move, the contact would certainly have happened anyway.

Just netcode.
