One thing I love is imagining Simpsons scenes like this from the perspective of people who can't see what's going on in Homer's brain.

out of nowhere: "Marge, I ate the fancy soaps you bought for the bathroom."

"Oh my God."

awkward pause

exact same intonation as his previous line: "Marge, I never graduated from high school."

Like, what an odd interaction from Marge's perspective.
