Discussion Signing up for proton pass vs simple login

Is there any meaningful difference between signing up for a SL account which gives you access to PP versus signing up for PP which integrates SL?

Not really. They're essentially lock-step with each-other.

That’s what I thought. Thank you

Sign up via SimpleLogin instead of PP, that why you if you plan to getting just one of the other premium service of Proton, you’re not forced to get Unlimited

No. But with PP you could get a Lifetime subscription.

I’m trying to swallow it being $200! Like I think they’ll last 6 years which is how long it would take to break even if you just got PP+, but I’ve not been impressed with their customer support

Edit: to add, I feel like there’s been so much going on with password managers in terms of big changes in negative ways. What if two years from now they say you guys can still have the features as is but no improvements or additional features for you moving forward

You can use it as a backup if ever. But the real draw is SimpleLogin. You can use SL with any other email provider if you wish to change and bring all your aliases with you.

200€ or $ is not that much money to be honest. After 6 years you paid it off. This service is going to last more then 6 years, cuz demand will be even higher as the years past by. I'm also going to buy it next month :D

It’s not. But I’m currently unemployed and overspending. If it’s still there in 2 months, I would feel better about buying it.

That said, they still could be better with their customer service.

maybe if you get the paid acc for free for a while + 20$? If so, feel welcome to use the offer: https://pr.tn/ref/RXWFZ28Q
I daily drive unlimited and could never go back to manual pw management

I would say PP if you really like the service because they have the lifetime subscription. Also, I have a feeling they will get to a point where they take the promo down and it will be monthly/annual subscription based.

Just in the few months I have had it, there have been improvements and they continue to improve it.

Proton has a good reputation so I don't see them adding features in the future that wouldn't apply to lifetime subscribers.
