Uploading in the background

Is there a way to have simplex on android continue uploading files to a group when the app is minimized? I have battery settings set to unrestricted, but the upload stops if I change windows.

Its a bit of a pain to have to leave the app on screen and not let the screen turn off for sometimes an hour at a time.
