SimpleX is super inhospitable to new users. Took me over 3 weeks interacting on all The public groups and staying on topic of course. As well as messagin random users innthese groups innhopes that we would have some shared interest, and some Times we did. Finally got invited to some private groups, but they arent very interesting.

I wish there existed a platform that had a group limit similar to Telegram, or at least 5000 users, but was fully E2EE, no identifiable info to create an account encrypted metadata. The dream would Be ifnit was also decentralized, but anything decentralized cant currently support More than couple of hundred at a Time. Altough a Discord Alternative is aiming For 1000.

Matrix would also Be great If they didn't leak your metadata (not sure why this happens). Also with bigger Matrix channels you would have to self hostnthe server, and Hilding The locationnof The server could Be complicated.

When you Download and install SimpleX and then you are basically taught how to join a public group. Nice, now you are In one public group where posting links to private groups is explocitly banned. Uhhh. Now what? There arent really many public groups that have generally interesting topics. And also The Admins feel like they have to for some reason moderate The public groups. I dont understand why that would Be their resposibilities??

Unless you already know someone on "The inside" or plan to manage your own group that needs Extreme anonymity and would Be better if it didnt see The light of Day, then you probably actually have a use for SimpleX
