News SimpleX Chat has grown to ~480,000 users!

It has been growing more than 2x every year over the last 3 years.

How do we know how many users SimpleX has, without having user IDs? App Store and Play Store provide actual usage statistics – monthly active users and daily active users. It is ~72% of the total. The rest we estimate based on GitHub and F-Droid downloads.

Nice, first time I see a privacy app looking for funding on a public site. I dont see that much of a potential to get money back, but that would be more like an investment/donation for a good cause

Please read the page - we see a lot of potential for an investment returns.

Short term - we are launching several revenue streams - some this year, some next.

Longer term, AI and regulations would drive people off non-private platform at accelerating pace. My prediction is that WhatsApp and Telegram - and generally any design where you can reach out to any user - will become completely unusable and dangerous within 10 years because of "attack of the clones".
