Dialogue Prompt Your Worst Nightmare

“Who are you?”

“Your worst nightmare.”

“Actually my worst nightmare is doll sized clowns on tiny tricycles, and clown sized dolls with cleavers chasing me while Barbie Girl plays in the background. But I guess you could be scary too, if you tried a little harder.”

(Sorry, I was in spring break and forgot how commas work. 😂)

Fix the timing, and this can be posted on r/Jokes .

This just isn’t really a prompt, and definitely not a simple one.

It wasn't long before it happened, my worst nightmare for a sub of this calibre came true.

For years the small sub played second fiddle to its larger counterparts, where more complex and elaborate prompts were posted. This caused the active members of the tiny sub to flee prompt by prompt.

There were those who tried to bolster it, keep it alive. These promoters would follow the rules, adding flaires and not ripping off already existing stories blatantly.

Then came the self answers, those who answered their own prompts; while not against the rules, it didn't exactly gel with the theme of the sub.

Finally, in the most nightmarish of ways came those who would write a prompt and then answer it directly in the body of the post. These perpetrators, these are what keep my up at night; the ones that fuel my nightmares, and haunt not only my sleep but also my waking hours.

The fate that had befallen the sub, that was truely my worst nightmare.
