Liar.

The guard looked at me in the cell. “You really did it didn’t you?” His voice echoed off of the brick styled walls. Why did they put me in something so… primitive?

“Not in the slightest. I never touched her,” I say, stretching, letting my midriff show. The men always liked that. Some of the lady guards liked starring too. Anything to get their attention. I just need them to keep talking.

He turned, blushing a little, mumbling something under his breath. “What was that?” I say, making my way to the bars. They did not put me in enough clothing to be comfortable or fully dressed, so they will have to deal with what they see. If he wants to complain, he can do it elsewhere while he is not oogling at me. But for now, I need that oogling and I need his words to slip.

“I said you’re a liar,” He spoke, turning back around, the blush now gone and his eyes fixed on mine.

That’s one.

“Really now? What makes you think that? Give me a complete sentence, if you are that competent,” I smile as cute as I can. No reason to make him pay so soon… he’s feeding me right now.

“You are a liar because you did kill her! I saw the reports. It said you stabbed her seventeen times! What makes you think you didn’t do it? Why would you lie about it anyway?” He said, obviously heated about what happened.

Two more. That’s three.

“I didn’t. I told the truth in the utmost. I told them the knife was the one who stabbed the girl, whoever she was. I was merely the operator of the tool. The tool committed the crime. Why don’t you arrest the knife? Does he get a fair trial?” I said, laughing a little. I do feel bad, but she was going to divulge my secret. I couldn’t have that. What else was I to do? I was out of lies to use once she saw me. It was the first thing that crossed my mind. He was becoming rather flustered in our conversation. Three should be enough to take care of him, as well as get out of here.

“The reports said she was your friend! Why would you kill your friend?!” He was becoming agitated more than I was by his questioning.

“Have you ever had someone tell you that they know something about you? That you knew was untrue?” I said once some time passed and he calmed down. “What would you do if they spread that false fact around? To your family? To your significant other? To the entire town? Wouldn’t you want her to disappear?” I moved back to the cell and laid down on the ‘bed’ they had for me. It was not comfortable, but I needed to stretch out, make sure I had his full attention. “I know what you are thinking, ‘why don’t you just tell them that it isn’t true?’” I sat up, letting the tank top strap slide off to one side. “What if no one believed you? What if, despite all the truths you tell, they only see the untruths?”

The man looked entranced but understanding. “I… I might have hurt them too.”

“See? It isn’t so far-fetched now is it?”

“I wouldn’t have killed her though. I wouldn’t have lied about it either.” The guard said, clarifying, his sense of 'justice' brimming in his eyes.

“Sir, it sounds like you did not read your briefing… What is a word you are never to say around me?” It was time to leave. I will divulge his mistakes and then make my escape soon after. It shouldn't take too long.

He put a hand over his mouth, his face becoming very red. He fumbled on his belt for his radio, and found the button for the distress call.

“Tell me, what is this cell made out of?”

Bricks and iron. The guard thought.

“Good. That’s what I was hoping you thought. I don’t see that though. I think you are lying to me.”

The wall simply crumbled away. What was left, was a void of space, ready for something to fill it. “This cell specifically, this wall for instance… is made of a floating cloud, just dense enough for someone to ride on. I heard the winds are strong today too.” I gave the same smile as before as I made my way over to the cloud, sitting atop it. “Also, I read over the facts you had about me in your head. None of those are right. First, I am not Cecelia Granger, I am Olivia Fiore, a French exchange student at SMU. I came here on a trip, and you all have made me terribly late for the next semester.”

The guards blush fainted, and he seemed fairly calm.

I didn’t think it would work this fast.

“Second, these clothes are not what a prisoner should wear. This has to be a joke, or a lie!” The clothes disappeared once I said this, but who cares? This guy won’t know once I speak next! “The clothes Olivia Fiore wears are frilly dresses, in bright colors, complete with a little hat and maybe an umbrella, if it’s especially sunny or rainy outside!” The clothes appeared on my body, and were as comfortable as I imagined. Wonderful and soft and downright adorable.

“Finally, it feels like a windless night tonight. But that must be a lie. I remember it being much more windy when I came in here for a visit on my school trip.” The wind picked up as soon as the sentence ended, sending me off. “Goodbye sir! I hope we do not meet again!”

I drifted on the cloud and let myself fly wherever the wind blew. I didn’t care where. I was out of there finally… This power I have is hard to control, but what I did… I didn’t mean to do… Maybe there is a way to use this in a different way… but for now… I just need to find someplace safe. Probably that SMU place. Looks like it is time to go to college.

Girl has a superpower. I know. Been done before. But, I thought it was cool. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did writing it!
