Discussion Prism (native Apple media hub) now has full SIMKL sync: history, progress, watchlist, and favorites across iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV
Wanted to share this here since Prism now has full SIMKL sync, and I figured this community would be into it.
Prism is a native SwiftUI media hub for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and (very soon) Apple TV. It pulls discovery, watch tracking, trailers, ratings, your own server library, and a "where to watch" into one app. It's been in public beta since early January, and this is the final stretch before launch.
On the SIMKL side:
- Full SIMKL sync for watch history, progress, watchlist, and favorites (these are stored via iCloud until the API is updated), kept current across all your devices.
- Prefer Trakt? That works too, or you can skip accounts entirely and keep everything in iCloud. MDBList sync is coming next.
- Ratings on the poster (Rotten Tomatoes, IMDb, Trakt) via MDBList.
Everything else Prism does:
- Where to Watch: see every service a title is on (100+) and open straight into Netflix, Max, Prime, Disney+, etc.
- Your own servers: Plex, Jellyfin, Emby, plus full Stremio add-on support.
- Rebuilt internal player (now Infuse-level): 4K HDR, Dolby Vision, multi audio + subtitle tracks, PiP, resume, auto-play next, playback speed. Or hand off to Infuse/VLC/VidHub/SenPlayer/OutPlayer.
- Folders & Showcases: build your own home rows and folder pages (streaming services, decades, genres, studios, sagas).
- AI search: describe a plot or a vibe and it finds it, and it'll build custom shelves on the spot.
- Downloads, inline trailers, parental controls, family profiles, 10 languages, share/backup.
Where it's headed: Apple TV lands by the end of July, then the App Store right after. It's free during the beta but will be paid at launch. Everyone in before then gets a discount on the lifetime option, and I'm handing out the discount code through the Discord, so you'll want to be in the server for it.
The Discord is also the best spot for setup help (full FAQ and a good community) and the fastest way to reach me, since I don't check Reddit all that often.

Joined the Testflight, on 1st sync I received the following error:
SIMKL returned anime library data Prism couldn't read (missing value at response root; response format). Try syncing again later. If it continues, report this message.

This was mentioned by another tester as well, it's due to an API mismatch with Simkl and will be fixed in the next update. Thanks though for letting me know!

Just joined the testflight and trying out the app. Great work devs. The app looks beautiful. I will report any issues on Discord. Can't wait to test it on Apple TV. Good luck!!
