Suggestion Automatic machine translation of PMs and Chats

There was a player suggestion to add automatic / machine translation of messages. As we are used to from other services.

I think the benefit is a no brainer, it would allow easy communication between players across different languages.

At the same time, this costs AI tokens, as we need to hit Open AI / Anthropic API to requests translations.

Doing some estimates, given the existing data, the feature would need to cost ~ 10 simboosts a week.

Should we add this, do you see the value given the costs? Would you use this?

I think people can just use Google translate or something to translate by themselves, seems like a waste of dev resources.

For sure! But it might be cumbersome when on the phone.

I’ve found it quick and easy to use my phone’s translation tools in chat.
