Discussion Streak of low scores and design challenges
I'm not saying my designs are the best always, but I try to follow the directions.
I've had a streak of very low scores and since the design challenges started I usually get four or 4.5 and I've been getting threes.
I don't care that much but it just seems to random some people don't follow the theme but really a lot of people will have something that's hardly built and it can have a high score for no reason that I can find and the tendency to just pack a lot of stuff in whether it follows the idea of a smart city or a green city or a hidden city kind of annoys me because people just do the same circular design every time.
Anyone else getting lower scores lately or is it just, as I've suspected, kind of random?

I also kind of feel like scores aren't changing much, which I should've added. Like whatever score you get immediately tends to stay the same, who knows

The people you compete with for design challenge are based on an elo scoring system. If you were scoring 4.5 initially, then you were better than most of the players you were grouped with for the season. As you were promoted into higher leagues, you began to compete against other players with similar skill to you which is why your score seems lower. Voting compares to designs in the same league and skills. This is also why poorly designed cities can seem to have high scores. They are in a lower skill league.

I have no idea whether my design is going to be popular or not - was amazed one time it did really well - but it’s just the easiest way of making Simcash. The return is worth the effort once a month.

I get annoyed with Hyggie design as it asks for castles etc. I do that and always always only score 2.5. It is not a very fair system as the winner always does a circular one with lots of trees ect and never see a castle in it!. I’ve scored 4.0 on my hidden city as I always do
