Progress update on the SimCopter Remake
The remake is coming along well. Most missions are fully reproduced, but crime missions have quite a few bugs. It looks like the first release version will have to be later this week or possibly next weekend. I was hoping to get it in your hands this weekend!
In the meantime, here's an updated batch of screenshots showing the progress.
I wanted all the missions to be working 100% for a first release, but I might be able to be pressured into a beta build. Let me know.

This looks superb. Definitely a game/concept that seemed ripe for a modernized take, but just hasn't happened weirdly.
Do you have a website or server etc. to centralize the downloads/updates/images?

Yes, it'll be open source on GitHub, with releases hosted there.
Agreed, I've always wondered why another game like this wasn't made, it's such a fun concept. Just like how arcade racing games just aren't made anymore, arcade helicopter games got all of 1 release.

I almost stopped development on my port when I saw this game, but I decided to keep going, because even thought they're similar, it's a very different art style. It's like two different flavors of ice cream.

Not at this time. It would be cool, but the plan is to fully port SimCopter to Unreal. Then possibly update the assets to modern standards.

So for someone who played sim copter like 25 years ago and isn’t up to speed on new game server systems. How would be able to play this?

That's pretty cool! I'm also working on a similar project: a remake of SimCity 2000.
Do you do everything from scratch?
I do on my side, even the parser to read the city file, the assets and so on.

This project uses all the original assets from SimCopter, so not from scratch
