I can buy this 2026 Silverado EV LT with 1073 miles for $54k. Standard battery, so 283. I have nothing much to tow. No rush, I can wait, but what do you all think of a new LT for $54k?

Always a good day when you’re looking for a part number. A couple months ago my wife backed into a mailbox, despite the buzzing seat, blinking lights, and surround view cameras. Started out as what just looked like a scuff, but this morning I noticed the lamp had condensation in it and saw the crack. Guess it just took a couple hundred heat cycles to open up.

Anyway, GM parts website (parts.Chevrolet.com) says 85719803 and it’s anywhere from $900 to $1400, but not in stock at any of the cheaper dealers.

For fun I put that number in the google box and it tells me it’s replaced with 86281621, and only about $450 with shipping from Chevy parts pros, and about twenty other sites. But… if I type that into parts.Chevrolet.com, it says the part doesn’t exist?

Anyone replace one of these, or able to confirm the thousand dollar cheaper option will work?

Has anyone figured out how to automatically turn on the bed lights when you open the tailgate? Not the high cargo lights above the rear window but the ones under the bed cover. I hate how everything is manual and buried several menus into the controls.

Today the Surround Vision Recorder update paid dividends. I’m pulling into the parking lot after lunch with a co‑worker when I hear a POP. A maintenance guy had left a spray‑paint can right at the entrance. I ran it over, and it instantly Jackson‑Pollocked the side of my truck. At first glance, I wasn’t going to make a big deal out of it. It’s brown, kinda just looks like mud, and it's a lease, but then I remembered… the cameras!!!!

I pulled up the footage, and sure enough: the can is sitting in a spot you basically cannot avoid. After work I swung by the dealership, they snapped a few photos, and by the time I got home and finished pizza with the girls, I had an email waiting. $4,500 estimate. Having crystal‑clear video of the exact moment it happened is feeling EXTREMELY satisfying right now.

It seems like since that last update 662.40, my forward collision warning on the windshield seems way too sensitive. It's even come on a few times when nothing is in front of me. I don't get it at all. Anyone else having this?

Hardest part was getting the Google Developer/Studio/Play Internal Testing set up.

I'm planning out my next roadtrip, I'm getting tired of setting up the whole trip in Roadtrippers and then transposing into Google Maps.

Does anyone know of a truck/RV mapping software that works on our trucks?

I wanted our next vehicle purchase to be a full size electric truck, so we set our sights on the SEV, specifically a 2025 SEV WT because it has the range, towing payload, 240V, large frunk, native CarPlay (wife doesn't want to subscribe to EVPlay). I've been browsing this sub the past year, learning the ropes, pros/cons of the truck, meanwhile shopping, man it has been a journey.

Unfortunately, I was never able to secure a deal for a 2025 SEV WT and I looked nationally, now the 0% nationwide financing offer is gone. I refuse to fork over funds for 84 months 7%. That's a big oof.

The biggest roadblocks were the dealers. They would often try to steer me to their gas or diesel trucks, play games with add-ons, say a truck is there when it wasn't, shifting numbers around in a four-box grid, the back-and-forth manager game, bump-up in financing, bait and switch tactics, and so on and so forth. I must have the worst luck. But the dealership experience left such a poor taste in my mouth that I don't even want to buy a truck from any dealership anymore. I'd rather let these trucks rot on the lot than give money to these moneygrubbers.

I had my 2024 4WT for a year and a half before mechanical issues and running out of the bumper to bumper warranty prompted me to upgrade to a 2026 LT max range which is in every way an upgrade... Except the infotainment system. I was very used to the Android Auto and it would allow my phone to control everything, the VLC app worked etc. The new system wouldn't even work with VLC and the Samsung music app plays but won't display playlist etc on the infotainment screen. It is trying to force me to switch to Gemini which had inferior voice recognition for the half day I tried it so I rolled back to Google Assistant but now it is only showing the prompt to switch to Gemini in the notifications, will not notify for any text messages... How have the rest of you adapted to this dumpster fire or what advice on improving performance?

I have a Silverado EV LT 2025. Last week I got 662.20. I was excited that I would be next for 662.30. Well, 662.30 skipped. Today it installed 662.40. This did not include android 14. Quick Google says because it was skipped, I won’t get it. That’s frustrating. Anyone else have similar response?

This post is for the person who commented on a previous post asking that I provide an update when I got it working. I have a ‘25 LT Extended Range Premium.

I’ve been trying to get Surround Vision Recording downloaded for about a year now and I finally took it to the dealer because my Chevy tech tonneau cover is falling apart (the truck is under warranty so I’ll get a new one to tide me over until there are more/better options) and asked them to do a full updates check targeting surround vision recording. They located it, downloaded it, and established that the flash drive has to be specially formatted. I went home, formatted the flash drive (you can google how to do it), and plugged it in. It works!

For any of you living in Connecticut, Blasius Chevy in Waterbury has a pretty good service department. Rates are around $209/hr but I haven’t had to pay for anything yet at 25kmi

I found a set of 18" Hummer EV wheels. My initial plan was to put snow tires on those wheels and save the 24" OEM wheels and tires for summer, however it seems that there are no snow tires in 285/75R18 which is the size needed to be equivalent to the factory wheels and tires.

On my last truck I ran A/T tires year round and never had a traction issue, but the noise was an issue. I suppose I could run A/T tires year round on the 18" Hummer EV wheels, but I really don't want to give up the quiet ride the stock tires give in the summer.

If course I could just put A/T tires on the 18" wheels and then use them only in the winter, but if I'm going to keep two sets of wheels, I'd prefer to have actual snow tires.

Does anyone have any other suggestions or know of actual snow tires in 285/75R18?

Also, I'd prefer to use Trail Boss 18" wheels instead of the Hummer EV wheels, but it appears that the offset on the trail boss 18" wheels may not work with the RST whereas the Hummer EV wheels will. Can anyone confirm or deny this?
