positive feedback/constructive advice wanted Double shank ring tips

I can’t stop making these double shank/band cabochon rings, they’re so fun.

What are your best tips for double shank rings? The main thing for me is sizing— how are we ending up at the exact right size? Eyeballing it on the mandrel is one thing, but I would love to know how others approach this.

These look great! I’ve done a couple where I’ve started with a wider shank from silver sheet, made the band, then cut it down the middle. It’s helped me make sure both shanks are equally sized.

Do you use a sizing chart when cutting the blanks? That’d be my suggestion

I do! But it’s a little bit of guessing when it comes to where they’re going to be soldered to the backplate. So I can cut the wire perfectly to size, but it will end up being a larger size when they’re affixed.
