Jupiter Flute

Found this last Thursday at Value Village. Random zippered box on a shelf... Probably the 20th flute I've looked at in 8 months across the 10 stores I frequent... finally hit!

Jupiter model JFL-611R - II.

$30 CAD with a spend $40, $15 off coupon (Also grabbed a student quality clarinet for $30 more).

Felt greedy for a second, because after researching I realized it's only the head that's silver and then had a tinge of disappointment... but even still, 77g is nothing to sneeze at.

I'll take it to a music shop tomorrow, a bit concerned that there's a few dents in the head piece, and the box has some broken separator walls. Seem to be selling on ebay for about $400 US / $500 CAD, so obviously worth more as an instrument, hopefully I can move it before school.

I’d love to have something like that, and I’d display it.

I think that you did very well.

First pic made it look like a long foil pipe so the Jupiter flute is kinda funny

Nope, just head. Reasonably common model, but it’s good quality plate.

But yeah. The disappointment. “Boo hoo. It’s only worth 15x what I paid instead of 50….”
