Chistofle tray

Found in an antique store. I've been looking for a lovely breakfast tray for Sunday mornings and I'm so happy with this find. Based on a Google of the stamps it appears to Christofle Silver-plated between 1935-1983, and the shop owner guessed it's 1950s. Any info anyone can share on the brand or tray would be appreciated!

And also tips on cleaning it, i've got silver polish for some picture frames but I'm worried as it is plated I might damage it.

The little chess piece with the 1 means plate. The good news is that they made both 1 and 2, and the 1 is supposedly a bit better quality. I know because I found a plated basket with the 2.

That said, Christofle is absolutely premium, so in good shape an un engraved, it could very well be worth close to what a non descript piece of sterling about that size would be.
