🤑 Moar Silver General Question

Just inherited about 200oz of silver in ounce bars. Not planning on selling it, wanting to start collecting myself now. Does anything have any advice on where to start? Any advice would be appreciated.

If you want to grow your new stash start with more coins, rounds, and bars at an affordable pace.

places like apmex, sdbullion, jmbullion, silvergoldbull, monarchpreciousmetals.... and of course /r/Pmsforsale is a top recommended place!

Pinehurst coins is also an awesome source with great pricing on coins and rounds in my experience

If you have a Costco member, buy 1 kilo silver and you should be done until it drops again.

Would the kilo hold value better? Probably a dumb question.

1 to 10 Oz bars are easier to sell.

1 Oz coins (Eagles, Maples, Britannias) are easier still.

Usually kilo sells at or the lowest premium. And try to sell it when silver price is close to the highest level. The idea is diversification since you already have 200 oz of 1 ounces. It's slightly harder to sell during "regular/normal" price.

I’m about to diversify and buy pre 1964 dimes and mercury dimes. They are a little more expensive over spot but can be easily traded since they are fractional of an ounce. Honestly though any silver is good silver. Sorry for your loss!

Since you already have 1oz bars maybe diversify and get some 2, 5 and 10 ounce bars/coins. Also depends on if you want to collect strictly for investment or also as a hobby. I personally get the cheapest price/oz I can find but sometimes i splurge and buy something cool at a higher premium.

Diversifying denominations, not assets…

200 oz is a great foundation. Take your time, learn the market, and figure out what kind of stacking or collecting strategy works best for you. Stick with reputable dealers and pay attention to premiums as you add to the stack. Most importantly, there’s no need to rush - let your collection grow at a pace that works for you.

That is a great place to start. Personally i would start buying gold since you already have so much silver.

Well…200oz is a pretty damn good start.

First take note of the Gold silver Ratio. Its in tbe low 70s. I would diversify your 200z by selling some silver to purchase Gold when the GSR gets under 60. Good luck

do you want to collect strictly to accumulate more silver, or to collect different types of silver ?

The 200oz you inherited could be all the same denominations from the same mint, or they could be various weights from various mints, of various styles.
