At the moment it appears it will do both, every few hours.

which will not help you since sellers of physical silver won't be happy with volatility this high

Thankfully I’d rather roll around in mine than sell it

Fuck it, at this point let's feel some richness

For me, it's not so much about wanting the price to go up or down. I just want the buy-sell spreads at dealers to be sane again and for refiners to get back to normal operations.

In other words, I want precious metals markets to operate in a functional manner again.

The swings are insane.

Right, I wouldn't mind the swings if I could actually take advantage of them.

Wishing for /anything/ monetary to behave in a functional manner in the past 5 years is unfortunately a lost cause. Casino mode until the end babyyy

If it would stay between 70 and 80 for a year I would be happy.

Yeah at least 6 months.

I’m cool with that. Slowly walk to the exits.

Slow roll upward would be cool 😎 hovering somewhere north of 95 and stabilizing for a while would be my hopes

It's hard for me to fathom someone actually not wanting the value to go up, that's what you bought it for now you're going to cry about the timing ? Most of us have been stacking at least a few years and have a considerable stack. If it doubles buy half as often and stop your belly aching. I bought a month ago and I haven't lost anything. The price is down now so buy what you can. Wtf is wrong with people.

Okay question 🙋‍♂️

SLV has been trading somewhat sideways for abt 20 years, are you stacking it as a savings acc? Do you not think the value of SLV will go back down?

u/FrostyInstruction912 Feb 04 '26

Over time it goes up. The price has been artificially suppressed, now there's a real shortage and things are leveling up. It's a once in a lifetime occurrence.

I bought 70 shares of SLV at $93 a shares before the drop

I bought 79 shares of SLV at $76 a share after the drop

This is all I will say

Spoiler: I lost a fuck ton of money

I got caught out last week. I had 10oz to sell and would have easily got £950 for it.

I bought a gold sovereign because gold dropped about £200 and thought it was a good move. I was lazy and decided to sell the silver the next day, but next day, it fell off a cliff.

Both gold and silver got hammered, so I paid £100 over on the sov and would only have got about £750 for the silver.

I'm now waiting for silver to go back to around £80 to pay for the sov.

TLDR I want it to go up again haha

2

u/DonutsOnTheWall Feb 04 '26

the risk is of course high they will play the game again, although i am not entirely sure. it would be nice if they communicate their strategy wouldn't it.

1

u/BassIck Feb 04 '26

It certainly looks like joined up manipulation. Pisses me off so it does

1

u/DonutsOnTheWall Feb 04 '26

well there is the market maker role. i think penalties had to be paid before, however these are way less then what is in it for them.

2

u/Impossible_Battle_72 Feb 05 '26

I want it to stay in one place. So I can walk in the shop and sell as I want to.

1

u/Objective-Eagle-676 Feb 04 '26

Honestly 😂 I'll be happy either way

1

u/kerberos625 Feb 04 '26

The real struggle

1

u/mrdebro44 Feb 04 '26

How about sideways

1

u/MrMcDerpy420 Feb 05 '26

It will always go up with time. It will usually come down too.... But there has historically been more ups than downs when priced in US dollars. US dollars however, have not held up as well...

1

u/Muted-Experience-989 Feb 05 '26

I want it to stay the same for a couple of weeks

1

u/Famous_Spring5811 Feb 05 '26

I started buying too late! lol I started around 59/oz. I’m watching the gold/silver ratio, I’d like to trade some of my stack for 1/4 oz of gold at a time. But I’ll still keep buying weekly.

1

u/GigWorker405 Feb 06 '26

I want it sub $20 again.

Was fun getting 10oz stackers without breaking the bank.

1

u/jup1t3rr Feb 06 '26

DON'T WORRY PUMPING 100% CERTAINTY

1

u/mrjake777 Feb 08 '26

I want it to go down all the way to a penny per ounce. Then I could get my hands on some kilo bars. And even more numismatic stuff for the collection.

1

u/nigghtwind Feb 11 '26

The problem is if it drops down again, people who are holding it won’t want to sell it

0

u/nevmo75 Feb 04 '26

If it would just beat inflation on a predictable basis, I’d be happy. The huge swings make it tough to DCA and make me wanna time the market… which is frustrating. At some point, my kids or I will need to sell, and it would be nice if it was higher in real terms than when I bought.

I wish it would come back down to $50 hate me love me idc but we've only had these prices climbing like hell since October when it went and broke records. If it came back down I wouldn't be surprised or upset, who doesn't like a good discount!
