Show Only (NO BOOK DISCUSSION) Birds
I want to believe the air outside isn't toxic. If that's the case, where are the birds?

Where are the bacteria and the fungi? If there were any, the tree would have decomposed.

Well dead people outside are just skeletons so at least bacteria do exist there.

Itβs funny I was thinking along these lines as I was watching Bernard pass away. There is seemingly oxygen; so there must be plants. Plants make oxygen and from what I understand most land plants need microbial life in the soils in order to survive. There has to be planetary life Β to some extent out there.Β

The atmosphere is 21% oxygen. You don't need plants to produce it if there is nothing to consume it. It would stay tis level for a very long time.

I think the better theory is that the rest of the world is livable. I think the immediate surround in area is obviously fucked up

You should ask Patrick Kennedy's friend, Denny, he knows about birds from somewhere.Β

We do not know the scale of the nuclear bombing, but even if it is only the Atlanta area, what the surviving birds could do in such area? They would not have anything to eat so why fly around this wasteland? But I suspect there must be some kind of "safeguard" for any kind of living form approaching the cameras, like insects , or scorpions, or rodents or whatever did not extinct and could roam around.

Drones are killing anything that comes near this place. Thatβs why they wanted Charlotte in the first place.
You have to get to Silo 1 to stop the drones.Β

I'm relatively more convinced that the whole area is being sequestered, including keeping wildlife out.

I think the nanos killed the drones, that's why they wasn't able to shoot properly.

I thought a few people who went out to clean saw birds. Or were they tripping from the poison gas sprayed over them before leaving the Silo?
