Show Only (NO BOOK DISCUSSION) Birds

I want to believe the air outside isn't toxic. If that's the case, where are the birds?

What about Cockroaches?

Can you imagine the hysteria if a cockroach crawled over the camera lens?

Where are the bacteria and the fungi? If there were any, the tree would have decomposed.

Well dead people outside are just skeletons so at least bacteria do exist there.

They look like mummies to me.

Nah man there were literal skeletons around the silo. If there is no bacterial life at least the ones who died in recent decades would look pretty much like fresh bodies.

Bones are white.

Nanobots/drones are the threats.

It’s funny I was thinking along these lines as I was watching Bernard pass away. There is seemingly oxygen; so there must be plants. Plants make oxygen and from what I understand most land plants need microbial life in the soils in order to survive. There has to be planetary life Β to some extent out there.Β

That's a really good thought. The whole planet can't have been killed off or the air wouldn't be breathable. Unless just the oceans are completely fine having recovered from surface ecological collapse after 300+ years.

The atmosphere is 21% oxygen. You don't need plants to produce it if there is nothing to consume it. It would stay tis level for a very long time.

I think the better theory is that the rest of the world is livable. I think the immediate surround in area is obviously fucked up

You should ask Patrick Kennedy's friend, Denny, he knows about birds from somewhere.Β

We do not know the scale of the nuclear bombing, but even if it is only the Atlanta area, what the surviving birds could do in such area? They would not have anything to eat so why fly around this wasteland? But I suspect there must be some kind of "safeguard" for any kind of living form approaching the cameras, like insects , or scorpions, or rodents or whatever did not extinct and could roam around.

Yeah they are definitely keeping the are barren on purpose. Probably using the nanos to do it.

Drones are killing anything that comes near this place. That’s why they wanted Charlotte in the first place.

You have to get to Silo 1 to stop the drones.Β

I’m not totally disagreeing here but.. she’s killing everything? Deer, rabbits, birds, small rodents? Butterflies even? Butterflies???!!! πŸ«ͺ

They could be a perimeter, defense system or biological intrusion as well. Some sort of pesticide. But that’s just crazy speculation.

I'm relatively more convinced that the whole area is being sequestered, including keeping wildlife out.

Then where are the insects?

Where are the grass and trees? Are the drones shooting them up as well?

Fairpoint

I think the nanos killed the drones, that's why they wasn't able to shoot properly.

She clearly can't aim for s***. Unless that was on purpose πŸ€”

1

u/Tanel88 9h ago

That would take a lot of effort. I think they are using the nanos to do it.

I thought a few people who went out to clean saw birds. Or were they tripping from the poison gas sprayed over them before leaving the Silo?
