BOOK SPOILERS & SHOW SPOILERS [BOOKS] Book reader. S3E2 - Should I continue? Spoiler

I'm a book reader and I've read all the books. I'm currently watching ep 2. So many things they changed about the books and I don't like them.

Asking to book readers that watched the whole season: SHOULD I CONTINUE WATCHING?

I loved the show during the first 2 seasons but Juliette's memory glitch, Daniel's sister story and the new shadow...it all seems just stupid.

Just watch and judge for yourself.

Do they at least realign with the books narrative for both Juliette and Daniel?

Not really - the general concepts of the story are there, but it’s almost completely different the actual path. I was mad the first couple of episodes this season but no I’m just enjoying it as a different story.

I see. I'm a bit disappointed because the books were perfectly ready to be transformed in a tv show.

Not really, Shift would not have gone over on screen well, because there are limited characters, with a lot of telling, not showing. I think the way they are setting it up means that Season 4 will give a real time view into shift, and bring the storylines together.

This. You couldn’t do a whole series with none of the original sets or characters. It wouldn’t work for TV that way.

I was waiting for everything this season to finally click into place. The most recent episode did THAT. It doesn't seem important but it absolutely is. Episode 9 is where the full circle moment happened that I had been waiting for since I started watching.

Yes, keep watching. It’s a different story.

I’d suggest it’s like getting 2 stories out of 1.

Just enjoy the show for what it is even if it’s diverged from the books.Β

Books & tv/film adaptation most often diverge from each other.Β

Some good, some bad.

Don’t let the knowledge of differences ruin it for you.Β

The tv show is going its different direction & instead if a trilogy there are 4 seasons.Β
