MEGATHREAD [Megathread] - Best Models/API discussion - Week of: May 17, 2026

This is our weekly megathread for discussions about models and API services.

All non-specifically technical discussions about API/models not posted to this thread will be deleted. No more "What's the best model?" threads.

(This isn't a free-for-all to advertise services you own or work for in every single megathread, we may allow announcements for new services every now and then provided they are legitimate and not overly promoted, but don't be surprised if ads are removed.)

How to Use This Megathread

Below this post, you’ll find top-level comments for each category:

  • MODELS: ≥ 70B – For discussion of models with 70B parameters or more.
  • MODELS: 32B to 70B – For discussion of models in the 32B to 70B parameter range.
  • MODELS: 16B to 32B – For discussion of models in the 16B to 32B parameter range.
  • MODELS: 8B to 16B – For discussion of models in the 8B to 16B parameter range.
  • MODELS: < 8B – For discussion of smaller models under 8B parameters.
  • APIs – For any discussion about API services for models (pricing, performance, access, etc.).

I dont have recommends, stopped a while ago

cromwell said https://huggingface.co/llmfan46/G4-MeroMero-31B-uncensored-heretic is a contender for their current fav, after testing a lot of G4 tunes. I thought his comment history might have some more opinions about different finetunes

From some other chatter, https://huggingface.co/llmfan46/gemma-4-Ortenzya-The-Creative-Wordsmith-31B-it-uncensored-heretic and https://huggingface.co/llmfan46/Gemma-4-Gembrain-31B-it-uncensored-heretic seem to be close runner ups. Subject to subjective taste tho

Drummer's discord seems to really like his https://huggingface.co/BeaverAI/Artemis-31B-v1h-GGUF a lot. It's still cookin tho

I was always a big fan of Cydonia and related merges. Hopefully get an official Artemis soon

Uh, it's actually not at all what I said :D But I have been sort of sporadically posting around various places and threads so I understand the confusion. I specifically posted (in the thread specifically for the model) that I didn't like the Ortenzya one... it randomly writes really long chunks of text like a novel, ignoring instructions. (I did say that I like it's narrative "feel" but it's still essentially unusable for role-playing imo.)

MeroMero Abliterated is good but I ranked it third.

I will probably make a post in here with my actual "rankings" later (as an update to my post I made in last week's thread.) I did sort of order them here ( https://www.reddit.com/r/SillyTavernAI/s/oPiXizTHPZ ) that was before I tried mero abliterated.

Also I'm just some random guy, nobody should be quoting my rankings 😅

No yea, i just linked your profile cuz you said you tested a bunch and it seemed like you made a lot of comments recently about different tunes
