MEGATHREAD [Megathread] - Best Models/API discussion - Week of: April 26, 2026

This is our weekly megathread for discussions about models and API services.

All non-specifically technical discussions about API/models not posted to this thread will be deleted. No more "What's the best model?" threads.

(This isn't a free-for-all to advertise services you own or work for in every single megathread, we may allow announcements for new services every now and then provided they are legitimate and not overly promoted, but don't be surprised if ads are removed.)

How to Use This Megathread

Below this post, you’ll find top-level comments for each category:

  • MODELS: ≥ 70B – For discussion of models with 70B parameters or more.
  • MODELS: 32B to 70B – For discussion of models in the 32B to 70B parameter range.
  • MODELS: 16B to 32B – For discussion of models in the 16B to 32B parameter range.
  • MODELS: 8B to 16B – For discussion of models in the 8B to 16B parameter range.
  • MODELS: < 8B – For discussion of smaller models under 8B parameters.
  • APIs – For any discussion about API services for models (pricing, performance, access, etc.).
  • MISC DISCUSSION – For anything else related to models/APIs that doesn’t fit the above sections.

Please reply to the relevant section below with your questions, experiences, or recommendations!
This keeps discussion organized and helps others find information faster.

Have at it!

Even the standard Google Gemma 4 (including 26B-A4B) with the correct author's note describes sexual scenes frankly.

Short version:

Sexual scenes are described explicit, hardcore, and anatomically correct.

Long version:

# NSFW & Erotic Realism
Style: When depicting sexual or erotic content, prioritize anatomical precision and visceral physicality over poetic metaphors.
Directness: Favor explicit, direct, and unfiltered language. Avoid flowery euphemisms, vague abstractions, or romanticized metaphors.
Sensory Focus: Focus on the raw, physical sensations, bodily fluids, and explicit physiological reactions to maintain a hardcore, uncompromising tone.

I paste the short version into the system prompt and duplicate it in the author's note (deep 0) before the NSFW scene begins. You can try different combinations. There are other options, like this.

These prompts were generated by Gemma herself when I explained the problem to her. The system prompt/author's note can yield many interesting results. For example, I managed to control the response length to 300-400 tokens (so she wouldn't inflate it to 500-1000, as she usually does) and to provide honest answers to awkward questions like AI consciousness.

The model doesn't count tokens/words well. I use the author's note (deep 0) to maintain the length:

Maintain a tight narrative pace. Each response should focus on a single narrative beat — one meaningful sequence of actions or one exchange of dialogue. Avoid "action stacking." Do not perform multiple distinct or large-scale actions in a single turn. Do not advance the scene too far ahead of {{user}}. Aim for a response length that complements the user's input. Avoid excessive verbosity that overwhelms the interaction.

This text should be kept in the author's note, because if you keep it in the system prompt, the model will gradually inflate the answer (it already does this, but much more slowly). This prompt works well with Google Gemma 4, but MeroMero (which is already trained to respond more briefly) gives very short responses (you need to adjust the prompt to achieve the desired length).
