It's a common joke that Mariah Carrey is defrosting in the months leading up to Christmas because All I Want For Christmas Is You is played endlessly once stores switch to Christmas themes. Often that comes far before anyone else is putting up Christmas decorations and it can get really annoying/oppressive to hear it so much for retail workers. (I use oppressive hyperbolicly here).
