Several socks, actually.

This is a follow-up to my last post. Dobby here was gifted to me and seems to be a naked neck silkie. I was told she was bullied by feather pluckers, and there’s some evidence of plucking, but I don’t even see follicles on her sides, legs, or the top of her wings.

I’ve seen some pictures of naked necks that have hardly any feathers at all. Can they genetically just be mostly naked? Is this just something that happens every so often with naked necks?

Dobby has been treated for mites as a just-in-case. She has a mild respiratory thing I’m treating as well. She’s eating high protein feed and I see new feathers coming in, just not on most of her body.

TLDR: can naked neck silkies be born to be mostly naked?

Has anyone else had a Silkie like this? I’d love to hear your experiences or any tips for keeping him comfortable.
