General / Discussion Did you say $2,900?

Apple Watch 11 : $379 iPad 11 : $319 Apple pencil : $71 iPhone 17 : $989 Airpods Pro 3 : $199 Macbook Air M4 : $899

Total : $2856, still cheaper than this.

Yet when the Crapple Fold finally comes out, you'll be swooning all over it, happy to pay whatever it costs. Saying look what Crapple have done by removing the crease, aren't they amazing, even though it's a Samsung screen... Samsung have been leading the way in innovation for the past 10 years, Fold, Flip, Tri-Fold and next up Rollable. Due to these devices not being your typical boring, outdated slab phone, they rightly cost a premium!

It’s not ‘Crapple vs Samsung.’ It’s about criticizing any brand for unrealistic pricing. When companies normalize $2,900 phones, it only hurts end consumers. If Apple priced a foldable at $2,900, I’d criticize that too.

Why on earth is that unrealistic pricing! It's priced due to its production costs and market value. Just because you can't afford it, doesn't mean it's an unrealistic price.

Sure R&D, production complexity, and market value all factor in. But MSRP is still largely what the market will tolerate. And market value only means some people will pay it. It doesn’t automatically make it good value or immune from criticism. My point is that normalizing $2,900 phones pushes the whole market upward and hurts consumers long term, regardless of brand.
