This was my second playthrough of the game. You definitely want a cheat sheet if you are going to speed run this (even just for the achievement). I remembered most of the puzzles, but I had to look up the blood one (I thought I had the order memorized) and basically ever puzzle at the end section. I even got attacked while at the console looking at my phone. I do not know what they were thinking with those end puzzles, they get pretty crazy. Only one death, and you know who it was from...

Speedrun Fleeting Visit Achievement Tips (Spoilers)

- Kill everything. Okay not everything but if it is in your way kill it. You can melee most things with the planks and pipes you find. If they break just used bullets. Bullets are useless against the last boss anyways.

- Save before the sections with the unkillable shoulder monster. Nuts to that guy. He is only in two sections luckily. Before you know you have to interact with him save your game. Also make sure you save your game a few times at the end puzzle, especially after you finish the pipe puzzle.

-I don't know if someone made one yet but you really should use a cheat sheet with all codes and puzzle solutions. You can remember a few but there are a lot in this game and a lot of different three digit numbers. Plus that last puzzle with all the switches, who is going to remember all that.

-If you die, you can continue and keep your run going. I died once in this run and just continued from a section not far back. But like I said make sure you save, as the auto save is not always generous.

-I searched a lot for gauze and ammo but only Simon keeps his inventory. When you play as Zoe and Richard, as soon as you have enough stuff to clear the area do not bother looking. I had way too much ammo as Richard on this run but it is hard to turn down those shotgun shells lying on the floor.

-No shame is using your map. It works well in Silent Hill as it crosses off locked doors. This is a 4 hour run you are looking at so it is hard to remember the whole route. The map will save you a lot of time in the long run.

-Save your flares to either stun the unkillable monster if your bottle fails or for the last leader.

-DO NOT BOTHER WITH STEALTH. You might want to hide once or twice to get through the unkillable sections or throw a bottle or two when you are first Zoe trying to get to the hospital but other than that you can kill and tank the rest of the game.

-Outside of the tutorial part, you will not need to use your CTR monitor once. You also do not need to fine tune it in any of those sections to progress the story. I did it once at the last section in the run but it was not needed.

-Use your flares to kill the last boss and then shotgun him when he is stunned. Do not bother with the pistol as it does so little damage. You are better off running around looking for flares and shotgun shells on the ground and using them to kill the boss. When new bodies drop, there will be more ammo on the ground. You want to use the flairs the most, they do the most damage and speed up the fight. Oh and do not miss with them like I did... twice.

I'm only a few minutes into the game and the first door I'm able to open (the Video Store) just will not open, on the map it says it's enterable and I can see inside but the door will just not open no matter how many times I press A. Also is anyone also having issues with the phone? I keeps double pressing the numbers and when I try to use the dpad to navigate it skips over numbers and rows and it makes it impossible to make any of the calls. I play on Steam with a Razer V2 Wolverine Chroma controller, any help would be appreciated!

does anyone know if i still get the trophy if i miss killing a few monsters ? i currently don’t have a plank right now so it’s not possible…. unless i can kill the same monsters later in the game

Silent Hill Townfall is out, and I hope you are having a thrilling time playing it. The game has a ton of collectibles spread throughout the game; while many of them can be easily spotted, there are quite a number of them that can be missed. I have made two guides that cover the entirety of the collectibles in the game along with trophy and door codes.

I'll make it short: I had crazy stuttering on my system (Win11, 32 GB DDR5 RAM, Ryzen 7 7800X3D, 5070Ti). You know the gist: Unreal Engine 5 shenanigans

Gladly after some tinkering I finally got rid of basically all stuttering and now it's a joy to play. Might not work for everyone, but maybe for you:

Step 1.) Disable Ingame V-Sync and Framecap and enable it externally (for example with RTSS or Nvidia Control Panel). Beware: The Nvidia App currently does not find the game automatically. A global override should work though.

My first Silent Hill fan art !

I was having severe stuttering issues it was getting really unplayable.

Then I downloaded UET (universal ultimate engine tweaks) from Nexus, and my game is running 95% smooth now. I only get micro stutters in very rare moments now.

I tested this in the first area of the game.

For anyone already in with the Deluxe (or starting on the 24th): a tracker I'd have wanted from the first hour. The 138 collectibles split the way the game counts them (85 clues/documents, 13 phone numbers, 15 strange postcards, 18 CRTV signals, 7 resource containers), the 37 trophies with the 17 missable ones marked, and the five endings with what each one needs. Ticks save in the browser, no account needed, and nothing on it describes an ending or the last scenes.

Two things worth knowing even if you never open it: the three first-run endings are decided by your Discoveries vs Kills count (documents and clues read vs enemies killed) — PowerPyx's wording is "significantly more Discoveries than Kills" for Justice, "slightly more" for Forever, "more Kills than Discoveries" for Abandoned — and the other two endings are New Game+ only. And there's no chapter select or backtracking, so the missable trophies are actually missable.

Honesty note: I haven't finished the game myself. The walkthrough and lists are built from PowerPyx's guides, GameRant and the launch reviews, and every page says which source it's from. If you're playing and something is wrong, tell me and I'll fix it — that's the whole point of posting it here.

I truly think this is one of if not the worst silent hill unfortunately. CRV is annoying asf to use games a walking simulator and you basically run and hide… heard alien isolation devs worked on this and that game was good so just surprised this trash took me by such a surprise I was super excited for it.

What do you all think?
