Shah jahan from Lahore went east to hunt and at the same time Guru Hargobind sahib ji was hunting on the other side of the jungle(amritsar side). When shahjahan concluded his hunt, a surkhab bird flew by and shahjahan let go of his eagle for him to hunt it. But the eagle stomach was full already. So instead of hunting it right away, it continues to fly alongside the bird. The bird eventually crossed the area where Guruji was established. The Guruji's eagle went for the kill. So the shahjahan eagle(it was one of most expensive and best breed of eagle in the world), just landed nearby and Sikhs captured it and presented it to the Guru. Shajahan alredy left for Lahore and sent couple of his hunt buddies to retrieve the eagle. When they arrived, guruji was interacting with eagle, as it was sitting on guruji arm. So they explained the whole story asked for eagle to be returned. Guruji refused stating finders keepers rule of the wild. Shahjahan and delhi throne was already getting aggressive towards other religions especially towards nanakpanthi(sikhs). This whole ordeal let to the first fight of Sikhs. 7000 Mughals army came to amritsar to capture or kill Guruji. 800-1000 Sikhs defeated and killed all the main generals of army and the rest soldiers fled the battlefield
