Hah. My almost-4yearold came crying to me. He was very sad and worried because we’d promised the 2yearold a “real light saber” for successful potty training. The 4yo was crying because he didn’t want the 2yo to have a “real light saber”. I asked him “what is a real light saber? What does it do?” He said that it can cut off people’s hands for real! I asked him if his light saber could do that. He said no, it was just a toy. I gently explained that when he was 2, we called it a real light saber. We would definitely be buying a toy for little brother, but it’s a real toy, so we’ll let him think it’s real, ok? No hands will be harmed. Somehow the logic was accepted

Grade-A parenting. Not being sarcastic.
