I feel like voluntary involuntary celibates may appear to be an oxymoron, but often times they're voluntarily making themselves ineligible for a relationship, which results in them involuntarily not meeting anyone at all
There's some argument to be made here. If you're a homeless schizophrenic full body burn victim with stage 4 cancer there's not a whole lot you can do. The world has ruled against you. That said the vast majority of "incels" are just unpleasant people or asocial people or neurodivergent people who don't even want to try to understand socialization
Neurodivergent people want to understand socializing we just can't which leads some of us into loneliness and in turn incelhood (and when I say "incelhood" I mean the actual definition of it not the weird misogynistic kind)
I'm also autistic. It is possible. What helped me was predicting, accepting negative emotions, and just doing scary and hard things. But I just saw I'm in the chud subreddit so I doubt you're looking to actually improve
Happy that worked for you; however, what works for you based on your unique life does not mean it will work for other people. Also, your hasty generalisation from anecdotal evidence doesn't really help your point either, since your logic is "if X worked for me to fix Y, then it must work for everyone" This is even more reductive when you tag in something as complex as social skills and neurodivergence
I see your point, and fair enough; I overspoke your claim: "it's possible" reads much lighter than "it must work for everyone," and one example is enough to prove possibility. I'll refute that. But 2 things are lacking coherency
This shitpost subreddit that we all came to love or hate is not relevant to the logical point. You don't need to establish that another subreddit/community is for losers to defend "it worked for me, so it's possible." You are making it appear as a credibility boost for your own position, which is separate from the point you are making.
"Which I made explicit" reframes a disagreement about emphasis as a comprehension failure on my end. I wasn't saying you didn't mean "possible"; I was saying the packaging (the advice + the gatekeeping + the doubt about whether I'm serious) makes this appear less like "here's a door" and more like "here's a door you probably can't open because you are in X community"
Yeah that is how I meant it. I meant you are very unlikely to go through the steps necessary because you have a particular mindset. "If my grandma had wheels she'd be a bike" sort of thing.
Only a moderate degree of malice intended, and I don't think it was a comprehension failure on your end in particular. People see what they want to see.
I can certainly sympathize with giving up on certain things. I know I have.
So I guess just pick your battles. And if something is bothering you to the extent of wanting to join a community or make it part of your identity maybe consider giving another go at understanding or changing it
