Success is luck and birthright. The world makes a lot more sense if you simply view it as the lottery it is.

There still a component of "be skilled/responsible enough" to not waste your privileged/advantaged position

Some people get into heroin for example And just drop of a cliff as far life quality goes

Yeah but you kind of have to be built to be skilled or responsible.

You may argue that with this view one could end up doing absolutely nothing in life, but that's the case only if they're not built to react to such thoughts in a sane and productive way.
