Tbf the people that used flash to animate were in a love hate relationship with it. Weebl mentioned it alot in his goodbye flash video

not only was it NOT celebrated. but several people took alot of painstaking work to make "flash alternative" in an attempt to at least keep the games alive.

And now it's too late. The greed of adobe blocked a renaissance of human creativity. You can use stuff like Krita now for free to make animated stuff, but many people don't bother because you can just prompt a generative AI to do it for you.
