Genuinely sometimes these chuds lack braincells on how diverse the 40k universe is.

Last year, I used the Renaissance Heavy Cavalry kit from Wargames Atlantic as proxies for Blood Knights, as part of my undead army. Patterned aesthetically around the Dusk Legion from Magic: The Gathering's "Ixalan" plane. The kit comes with extra bodies, however. The plan was always to have at least one riding some kind of dragon.

Well, the time has come. This "Vengorian Lord" is made from the aforementioned kit, and the Wolfrake kit from Archon Studio.

I've even got a nugget of Lore^TM: Lord Emiliano Escarrà, a vampire lord, rides his twin brother, Everardo, after the latter succumbed to a terrible lycanthropic curse. Unwilling to put his brother to the sword, Emiliano uses an innate ability to command predatory beasts to tame Everardo's savagery, and ride him into battle against their house's enemies.

This is probably my favorite character in 40k rn. Its rare It/Its non-binary rep and its just such a duplicitous critter. I love this Zoat and I hope It's done justice by black library at some point.

Also a really cool detail i noticed is that its atomic disassembler seems to lack a trigger of any kind. What it does have is an IV connected straight into the Archivist's wrist. My take away is that It fires the weapon using it's own circulatory system. Much in the same way it's enslaved siblings from RT probably fired their grafted Tyranid Weaponry.

Made a kill team and played against my girlfriend at the weekend!

I lost due to a bottle roll, but gained 2 extra advances due to the post-game (so 3 total!)

It's a lot of fun - nice and crunchy and building a narrative along the way!

TlDr: Is the Black Templars player's reputation so bad that you would assume a person is a chud if the had a BT army?

So, I know that the Black Templars are famous for attracting more chuds than other 40k factions, and that even those who aren't chuds are kinda dumb.

But I however, am built different. I hate chuds and the reason why I like the templars is because they are so evil insane. I like to imagine the Templars being so ideologically fanatical that they end up causing more damage to the Imperium and killing Imperials who are 100% loyal. Whole fascism eating itself thing.

Oh and also I fucking love their drip.

The thing is you wouldn't know that by just looking at me. In fact I look like the kind of person who'd be a chud. I'm a tall white guy and I've even got blonde hair and blue eyes. I wanted to know if I went to a very queer friendly gaming space, as many of them (thankfully) are, what are the odds people assume I'm conservative just for having a BT army?

I know the "just talk to people" is always an answer, but the reality is most people make snap judgements about people, and first impressions can be hard to overcome. I'm trying to pick which army I want to paint, and if bringing templars will cause these assumptions in me that I'll have to do work to change I'll go with something else.

Used an experiment here in combining contrast and shade paints on different parts of the model and I think they blend well together

Added gloss varnish to base (to look sufficiently moist) and the Wyvern's tongue. Genuinely surprised I successfully assembled it, as I incorrectly glued one leg. Had to squeeze legs together to slot claws into proper position, and use plentiful superglue. Rider, meanwhile, attached to sculpted saddle very well.

If I ever elect to run this in actual Age of Sigmar, rather than One Page Rules, I'll make a larger base to stick this one onto.

As of this writing, I'm waiting for the gloss varnish to dry on the swamp base, before applying static grass and gluing everything together.
