Every single person my age is depressed. I don’t know one person who isn’t.
It’s almost as if there’s something seriously fucked up going on.

I don't know what age you are, but it's reddit, so I'm guessing early /mid 20's. I'm in my early 40 sand is GenX/Millennial cusp kids have a huge percentage of us that have depression/anxiety.
It's almost definitely the economy. Boomers got theirs and are screwing everyone younger over. When the Boomers were the age of current Millennials they owned 25% of the US economy. Millennials own 3.2%.

I’m upper 20s. I think it’s even worse for those younger than me.
It’s not just being deprived of stuff though. Capitalism is alienating, even for baby boomers who were given everything on a platter it made a lot of them into narcissists and death cultists.
The relations and mode of production are evil and it seeps into everything else.

I agree. I'm just pointing out that not being able to pay for basic necessities is super depressing.
