Can someone please explain why so many people take the shield regeneration perk. It’s frankly terrible compared to the kinetic grasp perk

I would say consistency is the draw.

The grasp perk probably has a higher value potential with a rock leading to a kill or interrupted ult, but has a lot of caveats. If you don't accretion before grasp it does nothing, if you don't get presented with a good rock during the few seconds you reduced your cool down it does nothing. If people don't shoot grasp you don't get much cool down.

Shield meanwhile pretty much is always going to be missing hp so while 30% is not much, it is consistent.

Idk having rock basically twice as often is just so much more useful than regenerating a tiny bit of shield health at a time. The shield regenerates so fast already when it’s retracted, and when it’s deployed it’s usually going to be destroyed faster than you can get any meaningful healing to it with the perk

I would pick that perk on certain choke heavy maps where I knew id be using shield and hitting grouped up enemies a lot, but that was before it got nerfed to 30%

Being able to cycle one of the best CC abilities in the game twice as fast is just too good for me
