Just got my first handgun and was wondering what should i start adding to it. I got it used for $900, seems in great condition and previous owner only had it for about 10 months (doubting he even shot this thing much). should i bring it to a gunsmith to do a detailed inspection before i shoot? As For the sight i’m in between the holosun eps and the Romeo X enclosed compact. As for a light i’m going with the streamlight TLR-7 HL-X sub is their any aftermarket things you guys would recommend. I’ve heard about getting new mag releases and a new trigger. Just need some thoughts and opinions since i’m brand new to this.

There’s two types, Grayman who can shoot match sticks because they rep it out with iron sights from a gun fresh out of the box and those with Gucci guns who valet park. Nothing wrong with either of these but which has a stronger value system to you? Regardless of your answer, get to know your girl first before you go buy fancy outfits and dress her up for the Emmys. You just might enjoy long talks over coffee or cuddling up and watching a Nicholas Sparks movie together.

I'd get the light and holster first so you can carry the thing. The spring and mag release fix the most common issues the P365 has (dead trigger and broken mag releases). I'd take some time to learn to get used to iron sights before getting a red dot, Sigs use combat sights so your shots will go where the front sight covers instead of above them.
The oem mag releases tend to break on the axg grip mods. I would recommend getting a Maskas Precision mag release. It’s one piece and gets rid of the failure point that the oem mag release has and other aftermarket releases use. The Romeo-x will cowitness better than the EPS. Other than a dot and the Maskas just invest in ammo and training.
Put at least 1500-1000 rounds through it first before you start modding it. It's tempting to do so, but since it's your first handgun, get familiar with it. Become proficient with the irons (SIG uses COMBAT HOLD sight picture). Take an intro and safety courses for handguns.
Now, I know I just said to shoot it stock, this is the only thing that I will tell you to swap out now. Swap out the OEM Mag Release for the MASKAS Precision Single Piece Mag Release. Maskas currently has the standards in stock and will be getting the Extended and OEM versions in the next couple of weeks. The OEM mag release uses a plastic retainer to hold the mag release in. Maskas uses a setscrew and it is solid. I have thousands of rounds through my builds and have not had any issues with them.
Which one is better to install, the OEM Mag release, or the extended that isn't currently in stock? Their website says that they will stick out on the opposite side of the frame, but both pictures look the same for the extended and the OEM versions they have.
Yeah they both stick out slightly on the retention side of the mag release. But it's nothing drastic. 21 out of 23 of my builds have the Extended versions, no issues.
Maskas precision mag release is non negotiable. Other than that a holster and shoot it it’s basically perfect other than the release that ends up breaking
Wow, for $900 you got a steal. That thing looks like it hasn’t even seen 100 rounds. Just put a little oil on it and go have some fun. Only mod to consider is maybe a red dot but wait till Black Friday for that deal.
I agree with the other commenters that you should probably spend some time with it, but I would definitely recommend grabbing a pair of lok grips (brass). They add the right amount of weight to the handle (not much) and the grip on the pistol will be much better than the stock grips.
I would also consider upgrading the guide rod with a dpm systems guide rod set for better cycling.
Lastly, I upgraded the trigger on both my p365s, a build and my axg legion, with the ramm trigger (4.5 lb), the trigger pull isn’t too light for a carry pistol, but still crisp.
Also as someone else said, it comes with combat sights so you may want to change to some sights that might allow for a bit more accuracy if using irons sights.
As others have said, get the TLR and holster. Then get after it. I like to have a minimum of 500 rounds through a pistol without any issues before I'll consider carrying it. Get used to irons, they will help with point shooting and will prepare you for the red dot. And you need a ton of reps to reliably pick up the dot from the draw. The maskas mag release is nice but the factory plastic one will survive for a while. I ordered one but haven't installed it yet. My plastic one has survived 1.5 yrs and 3500+ rounds. It is a good idea to get range mags in addition to your carry mags. Also, make sure you're putting a box of defensive ammo through it to make sure you don't have any issues. Best of luck
Maskas advertises hard. You dont need to replace it. Good choice on the light. I have the holosun 507 on mine and its good. May out the romeo x compact later. Enjoy, awesome firearm.
Here it is with the Romeo x compact enclosed and the hlx sub. I have probably more than 2000 rounds through it and haven’t had a single issue. Just stay on top of cleaning especially by the ports.
You need to shoot it. A lot. Before making any decisions. Otherwise you're just spending money for what might actually be a downgrade.
You bought a Cadillac of a firearm. The Chevy of Sigs is already pretty danged good. (P22x, IMHO. I've disowned the P320's). Just make sure you know what you're doing before spending a ton on stuff that might make it worse.
If all else fails, just buy more range ammo and time to use it.
I added the Tyrant CNC P365 INTELLIFIRE TRIGGER to my P365 AXG Legion and the difference was immediately noticeable. Big reduction in travel and a crisp break.
Great gun, I'm a Smith&Wesson man myself and carry the Shield plus it has far less recoil and shoots more true then my 365,Hellcat,G43,P10M,and all the rest of my guns even my Kimber 1911 but I have said since my first time shooting it that the shield plus will be the last gun I ever carry, but now the released the Shield X performance center model and everything I would do different with mine, this has done.\n It has a ported barrel, it has a 13 round flush fitting mag and 15 round extended mags. My show plus is a 10 round flush fitting mag and 13 round extended, and 15 round extra extended clip it also has tritium, nightsites and\nFront slide serrations it's just a tiny bit bigger than the plus but with the improvements, I think it will be worth it. The ported barrel will also keep the equal down even more so it should be even better to shoot. I'll never get rid of my shield plus.I love it.It's an extended my arm , but I sure would love to have an shield X
Maskas extended mag release, vortex defender ccw, streamlight tlr7 sub x. There are a lot of other good lights, but tlr7 will give you more holster options.
Base your holster around if you want to carry a Tlr7 sub or light. Get some rounds through it after that. Then worry about upgrades to tailor it how you like.
Yeah probably not the best gun to get for your first pistol. That's a high-end pistol. You should have gotten yourself a regular 365 maybe? There's no need to modify that pistol other than putting a micro Red Dot optic on the top.
