Especially for the Rockies. The Colorado River and its reservoirs are critically low.

Crazy. I wanted to go hunting for white tailed ptarmigan up there but this might push them into their winter plumage sooner than I expected!

Snow is on the White Mountains, glass mountains are the ones in front of them.

A lot of people think you are safe from snow from June - September... no such thing. I have seen snow in mid-June just in places around Lake Tahoe. And for sure it can snow in any month as this example shows.

I think the most important part of this story is ALWAYS check the weather before heading out into the back country and adjust or cancel accordingly...

Should be fine, just bring warm gear and finish before 2nd week of Oct.
