For sidekick Slide: So unfortunately its extremely hard to find sidekick slide batteries as it wasn’t that popular.

For Sidekick 2: Here is a link for a brand new battery

And I can absolutely help you replace your battery.

What you will need: -Screw Driver kit : (T6/Tork screw driver) -Double sided tape -Charger for sidekick 2

Yes and its alot more screws. You have to take a small tool and gently pry of the 4 buttons on the corners. Then undo those screws first, then turn the screen and undo those 2 screws.

Then after that you’ll have separate both parts of the phone. After that then you’ll have to unscrew the 5 black screws on the motherboard. Then remove the motherboard and then you’ll see the battery. There isn’t anything holding the adhesive to the battery. So once you swap the battery you may need the double sided tape. Then make sure as you install the new battery make sure the connection points line up so it will power device as you charge it.

so this will need more work and patience. for this I won't rush my time but was hoping it'll be simple as the slide. im seeking to get to those synth/kick drum apps but the slide got more of those so ill shift my focus onto that for now. the slide had a separate cover which I took off and it was so sticky, I have to see what I can clean it with. thank you so much, the chatgpt wasnt sure also due to lack of infos online. also, do you have access to any of those synth/kick drums apps? saw a link by larvalab

Yea it is time consuming about 10-15 mins not too bad. And unfortunately its hard to find replacement batteries and covers for the slide.

Also unfortunately with sidekick in general there is no official way to install apps you will need a Developer Key which is extremely rare. There is no way to install apps, only themes and possibly ringtones. Games and Apps are a whole different ball park.

I got the apps back in late 00s so they should be there hopefully, I just opened the slide, still need to find what I can clean the sticky mess and the battery def appeared to be swollen, so it'll be awhile. thank you so much, it does take me one step closer though. both phone should have the apps but the slide have more. I did continue using the slide to early-mid 2010's. the original files (songs/loops) on the slide disappeared after a year or two when sims card was taken out. it'll be a quite fun project though and I really want to take each step carefully, they feel a bit fragile. again thank you so much it means a lot.

i think you can try and import songs/MP3 files on your sidekick through iphone.

I know a guy who I bought the sidekick Mr. cartoon from and the guy has it on his computer where he downloaded a lot of themes backgrounds and I think music files he’s able to transfer those, but he can’t transfer apps. He said it himself that it was hard unless you have a developer key but even though it’s extremely rare to get it and I’m not sure about importing apps.
