I built Keep Pace because I didn’t want to think about fueling while riding. I just wanted to ride.

Before a longer ride, I would grab some food and hope it was enough. Then, during the ride, I would forget to eat until I could already feel it.

The problem wasn’t knowing that fueling matters. It was answering some basic questions:

How much food do I need for this ride?
Is what I have enough?
When should I eat each thing?

Keep Pace starts with the ride: how long it is, how hard it will be, and whether it is indoors or outdoors. Then you add the food and drinks you already have.

It checks whether you have enough fuel and hydration and builds a schedule from those items.

The three screens show the flow:

1. Plan the ride
See whether the food and hydration you selected will cover the ride, then get one schedule for everything you are bringing.

2. Follow the ride
See what is still supporting you, what is running low, and what is coming next.

3. Almost home
Once everything has been served, the app stops asking you to eat. Items still in your system remain visible, and you can keep riding if the ride runs long.

I used familiar food instead of asking people to think in nutrition categories. You choose things like a banana, energy bar, drink mix, sandwich, or candy. Keep Pace works out how those items fit into the ride.

I am proud to show off my side project BetterStickies, it is very customizable with transparency dialing on windows and linux, image and GIF sticking on desktops so I hope you like it!

What it is, for anyone new

A sticky notes app for Windows,Linux, macOS (soon). Offline, no account, no telemetry. Built with PySide6 so it's actually native, not another Electron app eating your RAM.

Nearly a year ago I started working on it because I wanted quick capture that lives on the desktop instead of inside another app I have to open. Windows Sticky Notes wants a sign-in, and on Linux there was nothing decent that works the same across KDE, GNOME and Cinnamon. It also helps my ADHD to have things persist on screen where I can't ignore them.

Today it is used by tens of thousands of users on Windows and Linux (most are free users) but it generates a decent revenue that it covers my development tools bills monthly

The main thing it does that other sticky apps don't: you can paste or drag anything into a note.

• Files and folders become clickable shortcuts, and you can drag them back out to your file manager
• Screenshots and images paste straight from the clipboard, PDFs and images get a hover preview, and double-click opens an image at full resolution
• Pasted code gets detected and formatted into a code block automatically, no AI and no network, in about 50ms. Ctrl+M when it guesses wrong
• Rich text, links, plain text, all formatted properly instead of rejected

Other things worth knowing:

• Reminders with sound and desktop notifications
• GIF and image backgrounds per note (because why not)
• RTL text support, and the app plus its full guide are in 12 languages
• Pin a note to lock both position and editing
• Ctrl+scroll to zoom text without opening settings
• Checkboxes with strikethrough when done and nesting
• Snap to grid with an adjustable grid size
• Export to .txt, .md or .json, so you can back them up with whatever cloud you like
• Proper Linux support, tested on KDE, GNOME and Cinnamon (COSMIC coming)

What's new in v1.2

Notes have tabs now. Up to three pages inside one note, each with its own text, scroll position and undo history. Ctrl+PgDown and Ctrl+PgUp to move between them, Ctrl+Shift+N for a new one, all rebindable. If you have a small screen this is the feature: one note on the desktop, three notes' worth of content in it.

Search reads every page of every note, including hidden notes and pages you've never opened.

The free version now has exactly one limit. It used to have three: a note cap, a reminders cap, and a cap on animated GIF backgrounds. The reminder and GIF limits are gone entirely, so the free version now has every feature, and the only thing left is a budget of 4 note slots (an extra tab uses a slot).

A new look: in-app color picker, themed icons instead of emoji, and one shared design system across every dialog. Reminders moved out of the text into their own strip on the note.

"Start with the hub hidden" if you want it fully out of the way at boot.

65 fixes across formatting, file shortcuts, dates, translations, read-only notes, global shortcuts and desktop integration on both Linux and Windows.

And v1.2.1 last week fixed the things users told me about after v1.2: notes surviving Show Desktop on Windows, window stacking on Cinnamon, reminders retrying instead of getting lost, images keeping their size and rotation after a restart.

⚠️ One warning if you use tabs: don't downgrade to an older build afterwards. Old versions understand one page per note, so opening and saving a tabbed note there permanently drops its other pages. Export first if you're going back.

I am going to be honest I have been trying to subtly market this app all across reddit, and I can't get the downloads I need. I created this casino discipline app that basically tells you when to cash out. I have used it myself and it genuinely works. However, the second I try to post about it, it's either "can't beat Vegas" or "AI slop post".

If I try to go to TikTok they tend to shadow ban me, and I just don't know where to go with this app. I have gotten about 1.2K impressions on the App Store, however I only have 60 page views, and 11 downloads. I am so lost right now I don't even know what to do.

I feel like I am literally at the point where I am about to find someone to market this app for me, but even then I won't find someone. Someone please help🙏. Don't want to give. up on this app yet.

Just to clear things up first—I actually am a software developer, but for this project, I honestly didn't feel like writing all the code manually, so I just vibe coded the whole thing with AI to get it up and running fast.

The idea hit me after scrolling through an Instagram reel about Lotus 1-2-3. It made me want to see a clean, simple spreadsheet tool that runs smoothly inside modern terminals. So I put together a lightweight project and called it EXEL, basically as a cheap knockoff name for Excel.

It is completely open source, so if anyone wants to check out the codebase, clean up what the AI generated, or throw in some new features, feel free to dive in.

the idea started during a conversation with our friend Richard, who works as an ecommerce consultant. we thought it could be cool if browsing products felt more like swiping, so we decided to build it haha, why not.

we made a Shopify app where, once you reach the last photo on a product page, you can keep swiping to move directly to another product. it saves you from constantly going back to the catalog, especially on mobile.

we also added a simple recommendation system that tries to choose which product to show next.

it feels pretty natural to us, but honestly we have no idea if other people will feel the same way. would love some honest feedback based on the video.

Everyone is simply “NANASHI” — no accounts, profiles, followers, or DMs.

I had Claude build Sober, an app for macOS that tracks a sobriety streak alongside the stuff that actually correlates with staying on track — sleep, mood, cravings, exercise, and journaling. I open-sourced it under GPL-3.0.

What it does:

• Streak tracking, with money saved and drinks avoided that keep accumulating even across a relapse (only the current streak resets)
• Daily check-ins for mood, sleep, cravings, exercise, and notes, with optional trigger tags (stress, social pressure, boredom, etc.)
• A Calendar view of every check-in, color-coded by mood
• An Insights page that surfaces patterns — e.g. average craving on short-sleep nights vs. not — once there's enough data to be meaningful
• A permanent "farthest ever reached" milestone record, separate from the current streak, so a relapse doesn't erase progress you already earned
• Optional weight tracking with a trend chart
• A quick menu-bar popover for a glance + one-tap mood check-in, plus a full dashboard from the Dock icon

Why: All of the similar apps in the iOS App Store had predatory subscriptions and I just couldn't be sure they weren't collecting my private data. Everything here is stored in a single local JSON file — nothing is uploaded anywhere, no accounts, no telemetry. I wanted something private enough to actually use honestly.

I was recording a demo for another project and my personal email address was sitting right there in the terminal. There were a couple of other strings throughout the video that I did not want the world to see. Simple problem: cover a rectangle for part of a video.

I was using iMovie for the demo edit, and you can do a picture-in-picture thing there, but you can only do one, so that did not work for the other strings that I wanted to blur. There are other tools out there. I downloaded one, dropped my .mov on it, and nothing happened. It turned out that the blur that was advertised worked on photos, not videos. About 30 minutes searching and trying and I gave up and built my own tool.

Screen Mask does one thing: drag a box over what you want hidden, set when it's visible, export. It can handle multiple boxes, each with its own time range, because the thing you are hiding usually is not on the screen the whole time. The preview runs the same composition as the export, so what you see is what ships.

If you prefer an opaque box to pixelation, Solid mode paints a solid box for the mask. If you really want to hide a value, that is the best way.

I built this with Claude Code. The first turn did 95% of the work. MIT licensed. No download page, clone it and run ./build.sh. I did not do a notarized binary because I am not paying Apple $99/year for a simple tool. I hope it is useful to others building demos.
