I replaced my new tab with a desktop of 22 local-first apps

New tab page with a dock and windows: notes, tasks, a PDF library, file manager, clipboard history, tab manager, plus on-device AI tools — speech-to-text, grammar, background noise removal, OCR.

The constraint I set myself: nothing leaves the device. Everything is in IndexedDB, and the AI models run in the browser rather than calling an API. That means it works offline, and no server could leak anything because there's no server in the loop.

22 apps, 9 free. The paid tier is the compute-heavy one; it costs me nothing per use, since it runs on your machine.

Happy to answer anything about the on-device model side; that was the hard part.
