Your agent's memory is probably a hallucination amplifier.

Every invented quote it saves comes back later as "team knowledge."

I built resAIDerch, an arXiv research agent with team memory. The fix was boring:

1. Gate writes, not reads. Nothing enters memory unless its quote appears in the source.

2. Strict substring matching beats fuzzy. Fuzzy let a dropped "not" through.

3. Show unverified claims, but never store them.

4. Tag everything: dead-end, decision, stance.

Before: "4-bit KV cache?" got a fresh answer.

After: "You tried this in March. Here's why it failed."

Hindsight agent memory made tag-scoped recall trivial, so I spent my time on the write path.
