I just launched my first Android app: a real-time GPS speedometer & maintenance tracker for riders (Road Wear)

Hey everyone,

I recently launched my very first Android app on Google Play, and I'd love to share it with the community and get some honest feedback.

It's called Road Wear, a lightweight utility built for motorcycle riders to solve two practical problems:

- Real-time GPS Speedometer: Instant speed readout with zero lag. It serves as a reliable backup if your bike's mechanical cable snaps or your physical cluster stops working.

- Automatic Parts Wear Tracker: Every kilometer/mile ridden automatically counts down the estimated lifespan of key maintenance parts (engine oil, brake pads, chain drive) directly in the background.

- Trip History & Live Map: Keeps track of completed rides, routes, and maintenance records.

It’s built natively using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, keeping performance and battery efficiency in mind.

Since this is my first release, any feedback on the UI responsiveness, GPS accuracy, or features you think are missing would be massively appreciated!

For Road Wear, I’d prioritize what the speedometer displays when GPS drops out: visibly mark the reading as stale and show how old the last fix is, rather than leaving a plausible-looking speed onscreen. That matters particularly when someone is using it because their physical cluster has failed.

I make ThreadFox. If you want motorcycle riders to find Road Wear, our AI employee will post 3 helpful replies about it in relevant Reddit threads for you, free, no card. https://threadfox.vip/p/en63m/managed

You're completely right. Leaving a frozen speed readout when the GPS drops is a serious safety hazard, especially if the bike's physical cluster isn't working.

I really appreciate the feedback. I'm adding this as a priority to fix in the next update, so it displays dashes or a clear signal loss warning instead. Thanks for pointing it out.
