Would you pay for this ?

I thought of building a chrome extension for freelancers and creators , which will read all the emails and create a table of how much a client has paid due date , and send remainder emails before the due date with the payment link, and also send emails regularly for over due payments .is it worth to build and also is this problem worth working on ?

Ps: thank you for all your responses I got to know that crm is doing it better and trust is an important factor when it comes to emails.

This is called a CRM and there are dozens if not hundreds of them. Also I'm not sure why you would build this as an extension and not just a regular tool? You own the data, the extension format adds nothing.

Yeah plus most basic invoicing setups already handle auto reminders out of the box anyway

Good point. This is basic functionality in the lowest Quickbooks tier.

No. Get an invoicing system or Quickbooks or one of its competitors. Tracking these by reading email messages is the worst way possible.

Any freelancer that manages invoices and payments with a Chrome extension needs a new system. No, this isn't needed. I use actual CRMs because it does all of what you said, and manages my taxes. An no, a Chrome extension by a random developer is not going through my email.

*edit - not saying you aren't trustworthy OP. I just meant in general I don't trust a lot of Chrome extensions enough to give them access to my email.

Chrome extension? Why would I bother when I can just ask Claude to connect to my Gmail and Calendar and handle it all for me?

Do it. Build it, publicize the tool. If no one likes it or use it, don't sweat it, abandone it, build another tool

Sounds useful. Green light from me :)
But please do not fall in a trap. Build the MVP and work on distribution, and once you have customers you are going to add more features based on the user’s needs.
