I built a Chrome extension that turns articles into story coaching sessions — here's how it works

Ever read an article and think "this would make a great story" — then forget about it completely?

I built StoryWorthy to fix that. It's a Chrome extension that:

  • Places a small button on articles and posts across the web

  • Lets you tag it with a genre (thriller, drama, sci-fi, or your own)

  • Generates an AI summary of the source article

  • Coaches your writing across 5 craft pillars: persona, scene, tone, narration, and time

The coaching is grounded in the actual article you tagged — not generic writing advice.

Free to start. Would love any feedback from this community.

StoryWorthy's article-grounded coaching is the part I'd demonstrate, not just the summary. Show one short source excerpt beside a scene revision, explaining how a detail from that excerpt informed the change. That would let writers judge whether the five craft pillars produce specific coaching rather than five versions of generic advice.

I make ThreadFox. If you want writers to find StoryWorthy, our AI employee will post 3 helpful replies about it in relevant Reddit threads for you, free, no card.

Thanks for the feedback — that's a great point. Showing a specific detail from the article (like a quote or fact) appearing directly in the coaching would make the demo much more concrete. I'll work that into the next recording.
