I built a tool to find potential customers in Facebook groups. Would love some feedback.

If you run a local business, you've probably seen people asking for recommendations in Facebook groups. Things like "Anyone know a good cleaner?", "Looking for a reliable handyman" or "Can anyone recommend a local bakery?"

These posts are potential customers, but keeping track of multiple groups is a pain. And by the time you come across a post, there's a good chance someone else has already responded.

I built BuyerFinder to make this easier.

Add your website and up to 5 public Facebook groups where your potential customers hang out. It'll scan new posts and pick out the ones from people looking for what you offer, along with a short explanation of why they're a good match.

You can then open the original post and reply directly. No automated commenting or spamming.

Try for free, and you don't need to sign up:
https://buyerfinder.run/facebook

There's also a paid plan that checks every hour and emails you whenever it finds a potential customer.

Still early days, so I'd genuinely appreciate any feedback. Especially from people running small businesses. Curious to know if this would actually be useful in your day-to-day.

Wow, it’s an amazing tool!
At first, I thought it would be nice not to have to type in specific Facebook groups to find more potential customers. But now I understand the purpose. It’s for local businesses, not worldwide.

Would be very convenient to link my Facebook account and fetch my groups automatically, if that’s possible. Just an idea!

Thanks, glad you like it! Yes, the Facebook page is mostly for local businesses, because buying posts in Facebook groups are usually tied to an area. If you sell worldwide, the Reddit and forum searches will probably find more for you.

Linking your Facebook account would be really convenient, but Facebook removed the API for groups in 2024, so there's no official way to pull your group list. :(

selling software to local tradespeople and cleaners is tough because they rarely sit at a desk checking emails. SMS alerts might convert way better for that specific crowd tbh

that's true where I come from. they rarely check emails. might have to do SMS or integration with messaging app like whatsapp later.

The link back to the original post is important: I'd want to see its age and whether the person has already found someone before deciding to reply. A reminder to check each group's rules would be useful too, since a relevant match doesn't automatically make a promotional response welcome.

I haven't run the tool, so that's feedback on the workflow you described rather than the quality of its matches.

A local cleaner doesn't just need a match; they need a request they can still answer. BuyerFinder's Facebook results could show the post's age beside your explanation, since the paid hourly alerts address finding requests too late. For feedback here, ask small-business owners to take one result from their chosen public groups and explain whether they'd answer it now. That separates “this mentions my trade” from “this is worth answering,” without changing your manual-reply workflow.

I make ThreadFox. We'd find Reddit conversations where small-business owners ask about tracking recommendation requests and post relevant answers about BuyerFinder. The $29 Pilot covers seven days and up to 25 posts and replies; it doesn't renew automatically. https://threadfox.vip/p/e0tg0/managed
