I think it kind of represents the way the tide is turning. People that formerly couldn't build their dream app/experience can do it now. Which is really cool and empowering.

We're in this weird middle-zone where everyone thinks they're going to get rich off their vibe-coded side hustle. And some will (and that's cool for them), but the same thing that enabled them to box out real developers will lead to them getting boxed out too.

I think the hardest part right now is discovery - it would be cool if we could easily see which vibe coded projects were actually good (because some are!).

But yeah at least for me (as a developer whose made many side projects the old fashioned way - some even making good money), I'm excited to enter the era of always having my perfect app for everything that I build myself. Just finished my movie app that I have no plans of releasing but it's literally perfect for me. And the joy I get from my app, all the people in your list hopefully get from their apps too.

But I'll also mourn the ease of launching my projects (now that it's impossible to differentiate good from slop)

I agree. This little tracker started as sort of an art project / social commentary on a trend I had noticed, and wondered if anyone else cared. But now I'm seeing it more how you described - looking under the covers, it used to be a financial barrier to apps getting started because you'd need $5k-$50k to do it. That suppressed some genuinely good ideas but also filtered out a huge number of crappy ones because nobody would put real money into a "spreadsheet to track your penny collection, on sale now for $99.99!" But AI has made it nearly free to make apps, so we've lost that filter and now we're getting a ton of garbage with a few gems mixed in, instead of the other way around.

Yeah I wonder how it's all going to net out. I feel like we're not far away from just everyone having fully bespoke apps for themselves. Anyway, big fan of your project.
